John started his blockchain career in late 2012 when he accidentally stumbled into Bitcoin and spent the next few years intensely focused on learning about the blockchain. This led him to the Bitcoin Center NYC located at 40 Broad Street next to the NYSE on Wall Street where he volunteered for one year and spent that time mostly debating BTC with Wall Street bros. He met many people including early Ethereum pioneers which led him to ConsenSys where he joined in mid 2015. John spent the next 6 years intensely working to build the Ethereum ecosystem and finally left his role at ConsenSys in December 2020 at which time he began his new role as a lead investor and advisor to Matic which then branded to Polygon. John fulfilled his two year contract and left Polygon at the end of 2022 to manage his venture fund full time which he has been doing since. He joined Telos in January 2024 as the Executive Director of the Telos Foundation. John is also a co-founder and Treasurer of a 501(c)3 registered non profit called Code to Inspire with the mission to provide a free education for girls in Afghanistan so they can learn how to code. Code to Inspire has been operational since 2015 and has put more than 400 girls through the program thus far, helping find employment and career opportunities for hundreds of graduate students.
